## About the piece

The famous theme from the final movement of Beethoven’s Ninth Symphony, first performed in Vienna in 1824. It is also the anthem of Europe. The melody stays within five notes apart from one low G, so it sits comfortably under one hand.

Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven (Symphony No. 9, 1824). Level: Beginner.

## Practice tips

- Learn one line at a time. Repeat it until it feels easy, then add the next.
- Keep your hand still over the keys and let your fingers do the moving.
- Once you know the notes, press **Listen** again and play along with the rhythm.
- Hold **Space** for the sustain pedal to make the melody sing — release it between phrases so the notes don't blur.
